Scotlands Mogwai lines up international dates
LONDON--Experimental rock group Mogwai has announced details of a world tour that will include shows North America, Japan and Europe, and begins with a show in Reykjavik, Iceland, on March 14.
The group will then hit North America on March 17 with a performance at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. A handful of U.S. dates will follow before the unit jumps over to Japan in April, and then mainland Europe in May. U.K. dates are expected soon.
Mogwai was formed in Glasgow in 1996 by guitarist-vocalist Stuart Braithwaite, guitarist Dominic Aitchison and drummer Martin Bulloch. They later added John Cummings and ex-Teenage Fan Club member Brendan OHare. Mogwais debut album was 1997's "Young Team," which was followed in 1999 by "Come On Die Young."
The forthcoming tour will support the April 23 release of the Scottish bands third album, "Rock Action" (Chemikal Underground).
