Blink-182 to headline Honda-sponsored tour
Southern California pop-punkers Blink-182 will play clubs in nine cities in 11 days to kick off the inaugural Civic Tour 2001, which is named for the car built by the tour's sponsor, Honda.
The tour is scheduled to open on April 30 in Seattle, and will wrap up in Atlanta on May 10. Tickets for all shows will go on sale on April 14, according to tour organizers.
Honda is sponsoring two giveaways in connection with the tour, according to a company press release. Beginning in March, fans can enter to win a new 2001 Civic Coupe by registering at a website to be launched at civictour.com. The car was "custom-designed" by members of Blink-182, and will be showcased at the concert venues.
Another giveaway will award a grand-prize trip for two to a show on the tour, and will include a chance to meet the band before the show.
Honda plans to sponsor another Civic Tour, featuring a different band, this summer.
