Duran Duran returns to the states behind 'Pop Trash'
Duran Duran returns to the U.S. for its second stateside run in support of last year’s “Pop Trash” (Hollywood) with a month-long series of concert dates that opens on Feb. 27. The itinerary is dominated by multi-night stands at House of Blues clubs throughout the country, including five-night stands in Atlanta and Chicago.
Duran Duran spent much of 2000 on tour, concluding the year with a European outing. A recorded webcast of the group’s performance at London’s Wembley Arena last December is available on demand at Wembley’s official website.
“Pop Trash” (Hollywood), Duran Duran ’s 12th album, was released last June. The disc debuted at No. 135 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Duran Duran’s lineup--which boasted five members during the height of the group’s popularity in the ‘80s--now consists of singer Simon LeBon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist Warren Cuccurullo. The trio recorded both 1997’s “Medazzaland” and last year’s “Pop Trash.”
The band has begun preliminary work on its next studio album, according to Duran Duran’s official website.
