Blake Babies set reunion dates through SXSW
After a 10-year hiatus, the Blake Babies are heading out on tour on March 3, three days before the release of "God Bless the Blake Babies" (Zoe/Rounder).
The tour opens in Bloomington, Ind., and continues until March 16, when it ends with a show at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas. The band's lineup will include original members Juliana Hatfield, John Stohm and Freda Love Smith, all of whom appear on "God Bless the Blake Babies."
According to Hatfield, the trio reunited for the album on a whim, just to see what the Blake Babies could create. "There was no pressure and expectations," she said in a statement. "It was purely for our own pleasure and curiosity, to see what would happen." Ex-Lemonheads' singer Evan Dando also performs on the record.
"God Bless the Blake Babies" hits stores on March 6.
