Barenaked Ladies, Supersuckers Add To Farm Aid Lineup
Barenaked Ladies , Deana Carter, Supersuckers and Larry Gatlin have been added to the bill for the 12th Farm Aid benefit, which will take place Sept. 12 at the Nissan Pavilion near Washington, D.C. They'll join the previously-announced lineup of the Dave Matthews Band, Trisha Yearwood, The Mavericks, Sawyer Brown, Susan Tedeschi, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp.
Farm Aid officials say the organization has granted $14.5 million to more than 100 farm organizations, churches and service agencies since it was founded in 1985. In response to the drought that is devastating thousands of farmers in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky, Farm Aid recently initiated its Family Farm Disaster Fund, which is designed to provide emergency help to farm families hurt by natural disasters.
Tickets for Farm Aid, priced from $65 to $27.50, remain on sale locally via the numbers (703) 573-SEAT, (202) 432-SEAT or (410) 481-SEAT and nationally via the Farm Aid and Cellar Door Concerts web sites.
