Nelly Furtado, Barenaked Ladies dominate at Canada's Junos

Toronto-based Nelly Furtado , who was nominated in five categories, took four Juno Awards home from Sunday's (3/4) ceremony in Hamilton, Ontario. Barenaked Ladies , also up for five Junos, won three of the awards, which are the Canadian equivalent to the Grammys.

Furtado won awards in the best new artist, best single ("I'm Like a Bird"), best songwriter and best producer category. Furtado was also nominated in the best pop album category, but that award was bestowed upon Barenaked Ladies for their "Maroon" album. The Ladies also claimed awards in the best album and best group categories.

Neil Young, who did not attend the ceremonies, won in the best male artist category, and Jann Arden won the best female artist award. The best new artist award went to modern rock act Nickelback, while Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP" got the nod as best-selling album.

Bruce Cockburn was inducted to the Juno Hall of Fame; Arden, Terri Clark, Barenaked Ladies, and Sarah Harmer performed a musical tribute to the singer-songwriter.
