Montgomery Gentry tours to promote national band search
Country duo Montgomery Gentry has hit the road for a series of club dates to promote the Jim Beam Country Band Search. Following the club shows, the duo will spend most of the summer on the road with Brooks and Dunn.
Duo member Troy Gentry won the Jim Beam-sponsored competition in 1994. He later paired up with Eddie Montgomery to form Montgomery Gentry. They released "Tattoos and Scars" (Sony) in 1999, and won numerous country music awards. The duo's next album, "Carrying On" (Sony), is due on May 1.
Montgomery and Gentry have been named the spokesmen for this year's Jim Beam Country Band Search. Throughout 2001, they will also serve on the B.E.A.M. (Benefiting Emerging Artists in Music) Advisory Board, in which capacity they will speak to musicians about opportunities available to them through the program and judge applications for this year's search.
Photos, quotes and stories from the club jaunt will be posted on the official Jim Beam website.
