Charts: Dave Matthews Band's "Everyday" keeps No. 1 spot

Eve ryday” (MCA), the fourth studio album from Dave Matthews Band , clocks in at the top of the album chart for the second week in a row this week, just out of reach of the latest from Aerosmith. Eve’s “Scorpion” makes an impressive debut of its own, entering the chart in the Top 5.

After selling over 730,000 copies in its first week of release--easily garnering the album No. 1 status on last week’s chart--“Everyday” moved another 280,000 copies in its second week on the shelves, giving it a two-week sales total of over 1 million copies.

Following closely behind “Eve ryday” is the No. 2 debut of “Just Push Play,” veteran rock-act Aerosmith’s first new-millennium release. First-week sales of the album were spurred by the hit-single “Jaded,” which holds the No. 1 spot on trade publication Radio & Records’ latest national radio-airplay rock chart.

“Hotshot” (MCA), the sophomore effort from Shaggy , dips one notch to No. 3 this week, placing it ahead of the No. 4 debut of Eve’s “Scorpion” (Ruff Ryders/Interscope). The first single from "Scorpion," "Who's That Girl?" is slowly descending Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, down from No. 14 last week to No. 16 this week. The second single, “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” entered that same chart at No. 72 this week. That track features No Doubt vocalist Gwen Stefani.

DJ Clue’s “The Professional Part 2” (Def Jam), which debuted at No. 3 last week, dips to No. 5 this week, and is followed by Dido’s “No Angel,” which is down another notch to No. 6. Also down one spot, to No. 7, is the Beatles’ “1” (Capitol), a compilation album that has remained in the Top 10 since its release last November.

Lenny Kravitz’s “Greatest Hits” (Virgin) continues to bounce around the lower rungs of the Top 10, and is up two spots this week to land at No. 8. Behind it sits last week’s No. 4 debut from Project Pat, “Mista Don’t Play: Everythang’s Workin’” (Loud), which is down to No. 9 this week.

Occupying the last spot on Top 10 is Ja Rule’s 3:36” (Def Jam), which falls two places from its No. 8 spot of last week.

The new additions to the Top 10 usher out the “Save the Last Dance” soundtrack (Hollywood)--which drops from No. 7 to No. 11 this week--while the pro-wrestling-inspired “WWF: The Music Vol. 5” (KOCH) free-falls from No. 9 to No. 21.

Further down the chart, “Mars/Venus” (BMG/Arista)--the sophomore effort from male-female R&B duo Koffee Brown--debuts at No. 32.
