U.K. Charts: Eva Cassidy replaces Dido at top of album chart

LONDON--After six weeks at the top of the Official U.K. Album Chart, Dido 's "No Angel" has been toppled by the late folk singer Eva Cassidy 's "Songbird." Dance group Daft Punk has the highest debut of the week as "Discovery" enters the chart at No. 2.

Dido falls to No. 3, David Gray's "White Ladder" stays at No. 4 and Coldplay's "Parachutes" falls from No. 3 to No. 5. Anastacia's "Not That Kind" falls from No. 5 to No. 6, Aerosmith's "Just Push Play" debuts at No. 7 and U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind" falls from No. 6 to No. 8.

Trip-hop singer Nelly Furtado's "Whoa Nelly" has the second highest debut of the week at No. 9, and Lionel Richie's "Renaissance," up from No. 15, rounds out the Top 10.

The Official U.K. Singles Chart also has a new No. 1 this week with "Pure and Simple" from pop group Hear'Say. The five-piece, the members of which were chosen from among contestants on the long-running television competition "Popstarz," has sold just over 500,000 copies of their first single.

"Pure and Simple" is the third fastest-selling single in British charts history after Bob Geldof's charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas" in 1984 and Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" tribute to Princess Diana in 1997.

The new pop sensation knocks Westlife 's cover of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" down to No. 2, and Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" falls to No. 3. Atomic Kitten's "Whole Again" falls from No. 3 to No. 4 and Gorillaz's "Clint Eastwood" falls from No. 4 to No. 5.

Chocolate Puma's "I Wanna Be U" has the highest debut single at No. 6.

Wheatus and Nelly Furtado clock in at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. Samantha Mumba's "Always Come Back to Your Love" falls two places to No. 9, and OutKast's "Ms Jackson" falls two places to No. 10.
