Charts: Dave Matthews ousted from No. 1 by Shaggy
Two weeks ago, Shaggy ’s “Hotshot” (MCA) was bumped from the top spot on the U.S. album chart by Dave Matthews Band ’s “Everyday” (RCA). But "Hotshot" returns the favor this week, jumping two notches to spend its fifth week at No. 1, according to industry sources.
“Everyday” falls to No. 2, and Aerosmith’s “Just Push Play” (Columbia), in its second week of release, slips one place to No. 3.
Dido’s “No Angel” (Arista) continues to show strength, jumping from No. 6 to No. 4, equaling its previous chart peak.
The week’s top new chart entry is Eric Clapton’s “Reptile” (Columbia), which jumps into the fray at No. 5. Eve’s “Scorpion” (Interscope) slips two places to No. 6 during its second week in stores.
Tank, a former back-up singer for R&B acts Aaliyah and Ginuwine, enters the chart at No. 7 with “Force of Nature” (Virgin), while DJ Clue’s “The Professional Part 2” (Def Jam) falls four places to No. 9.
Also charting in the Top 10 in its debut week is Jaheim’s “Ghetto Love” (Warner Bros.), which enters at No. 9. Rounding out the Top 10 is Limp Bizkit’s “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water” (Interscope), which jumps up four places.
