Counting Crows travel the wine circuit

Counting Crows plan to unveil some works-in-progress during a brief summer tour that focuses on the West Coast winery circuit.

The tour runs from July 6-18, and includes five shows at winery-based concert venues in California and Washington. It is a stark contrast from the extensive, co-headlining jaunt it did last summer with the rock band Live.

According to its official website, the group will work out new songs on the road before recording them for the follow-up to 1999’s "This Desert Life" (Interscope).

Counting Crows are up for three California Music Awards this year--outstanding male vocalist for singer Adam Duritz, outstanding single for "Hangin' Around," and outstanding group. The ceremony takes place on April 28.
