Megadeth to preview new album with acoustic tour
Megadeth plans to embark on an unusual acoustic tour to promote the release of its forthcoming album "The World Needs Hero," which is due on May 15. The shows are private performances and listening parties sponsored by radio stations, and fans must win passes in order to attend.
The jaunt begins on April 28 in the band's hometown of Phoenix, and will visit more than a dozen markets.
According to the bands spokesman, Megadeth will hit the stage after "The World Needs a Hero" plays in its entirety. Following the Megadeths 40-minute set of new and old songs, the band will meet and talk with fans. In Philadelphia, a laser light show is included in the show.
"Moto Psycho," the first single from "The World Needs a Hero" (Sanctuary), was the No. 1 most-added track at active rock radio last week, its first week of release.
