The Homelands 2001 dance festival, to be held in Winchester, Hampshire, on May 26, is likely to go ahead despite the current foot-and-mouth crisis. Winchester town councillor Ken Carter said in a statement: "The City Council is continuing to work with both Mean Fiddler and the landowner in preparation for homelands 2001. At the present time, there have been no outbreaks of Foot and Mouth in Hamphsire, and no orders have been issued by MAFF or the County Council preventing the event taking place."
