Robert Plant assembles new band for tour of U.S., Europe
Robert Plant will set out on tour later this month for a handful of European dates that will be followed by a short U.S. outing in late May. The former Led Zeppelin frontman is touring with a new group dubbed the Strange Sensations.
Tickets to the tour’s Boston and Washington, D.C., stops were released on Friday (4/13).
A single Canadian stop is also planned.
In addition to Plant, the Strange Sensations feature drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Tom Jones), keyboardist John Baggott (Portishead, Massive Attack), bassist Charlie Jones (Bryan Adams, Bonnie Raitt) and guitarists Justin Adams (Jah Wobble, Sinead O´Connor) and Porl Thompson (The Cure), according to the tour’s European promoter.
An Atlantic spokesperson could not confirm whether the Strange Sensations have any recording plans.
Plant last toured in 2000 with an outfit named Priory of Brion, a group that featured an entirely different lineup from his latest project.
