Janet Jackson's North American tour plans emerge
Concert promoter SFX Entertainment has revealed the routing for the North American leg of Janet Jackson 's world tour, which is slated to kick off on July 5 at Vancouver's General Motors Place.
Tickets for several shows will hit the market this weekend (details are listed in the itinerary below), but most venues and ticket on-sale dates haven’t been announced.
After the tour’s North American leg concludes on Oct. 13 in Denver, Jackson will head to Europe to perform 25 shows in 10 countries.
The outing will be Jackson's first since 1998's Velvet Rope Tour. It will feature eight dancers and seven musicians, as well as a set designed by Mark Fisher (U2’s Popmart, the Rolling Stones’ Bridges to Babylon) and lighting designer Abbey Holmes (Van Halen’s “Right Here Right Now” tour), according to promoters.
Jackson--who appears on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Thursday (4/26)--released her latest album, "All For You" (Virgin), on April 24.
The album’s title track sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the fourth straight week, and is at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks chart.
