Tesla extends reunion tour into June, plans new album

Tesla s reunion tour, which kicked off in mid-February, shows no signs of slowing. A new leg--set to kick off on Friday night (4/27) in North Carolina--has been added to the outing, and will keep the group on the road until early June.

More dates will soon be added to the tour, according to a spokesperson. The group wrapped up its previous leg on April 7.

Many shows on the groups outing have sold-out well in advance, and a number of dates have been moved to larger venues based on strong ticket demand, according to the bands publicist.

A live album from the groups current tour is in the works, while plans for a subsequent album of cover songs has been scrapped in favor of an album featuring new original material. Guitarist Tommy Skeoch said in a press release that he and guitarist Frank Hannon are developing new songs during down-time on the current tour, but the band has given no word on when a new album might surface.

Tesla broke up in 1996, but reunited last October for a sold-out show at the Arco Arena in its hometown of Sacramento, Calif. A handful of successful December shows followed, prompting the band to embark on a full-scale reunion tour this year.
