Rolling Stones Openers Shuffled As Green Day Drops Off Bill

Green Day has pulled out of plans to open a quartet of stops on the upcoming Rolling Stones tour, according to published reports. The change comes just days after dates were announced placing the Northern California-based post-punkers on the same stage as the legendary rockers.

MTV reports that new opening act arrangements are already in place, with Bryan Adams now set to open the first nine shows of the Rolling Stones tour, including two shows at Anaheim, CA's Arrowhead Pond. Jonny Lang will step into the Minneapolis opening slot vacated by Green Day, placing him on a total of eight dates on the tour. Canadian act Wide Mouth Mason will replace Green Day on the Milwaukee and Detroit shows.

A Sonicnet report attributed the change to a band decision not to interrupt work on their next album.
