Madonna adds more U.S. concerts, sets ticket on-sale dates

update: Madonna , who is due to kick off her first world tour in eight years in June, has added second nights to all of her previously announced August and September U.S. stops. Tickets for all of her U.S. shows will go on sale later this month.

The Drowned World Tour--so dubbed in reference to the track “Drowned World/Substitute for Love” on the singer’s 1998 album “Ray of Light” (Warner Bros.)--is set to touch down in the U.S. in late July, following a string of June and July concerts in Europe. Many of the dates on the European run have already sold out, including a four-night stand in Berlin and a six-night stand in London.

The tour was originally set to begin with a sold-out two-night stand in Cologne, Germany, on June 5 and 6, but will now start on June 9 in Barcelona. The June 5 and 6 shows have been cancelled due to unspecified “technical problems,” according to a statement issued by Madonna’s manager, as quoted in a Reuters report.

Tickets for all of Madonna’s U.S. concerts will go on the market between May 12 and May 21, according to tour promoter SFX Entertainment. Details appear in the itinerary below.

New and current America Online subscribers will have a chance to purchase tickets to Madonna’s U.S. concerts beginning May 6 and 7, respectively, according to a statement posted on the singer's official website.

“Music,” Madonna’s latest album, was released last September, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album's current single, “What it Feels Like for a Girl,” leapt to No. 25 on trade publication Radio & Records’ latest Pop national airplay chart, up from No. 47 the previous week.
