Rolling Stones Set New San Jose Dates
The Rolling Stones will end their No Security tour of the US just 45 miles from the site where the tour began in January as the legendary band makes its way back into California to replay two postponed shows at the San Jose Arena. The new dates were announced Wednesday by Rolling Stones representatives and the show's promoter, Bill Graham Presents.
The tour plan now takes the band from Chicago's April 12th stop, which was previously the last show of the tour, back into California for shows on April 19th and 20th at the San Jose Arena.
The band was forced to postpone two nights in San Jose near the start of the tour when frontman Mick Jagger was laid low by a bout with the flu and bronchitis.
Tickets from the originally scheduled shows at the arena will be honored, with January 29th tickets good for the April 19th show and January 30th tickets good for the April 20th show. A spokesperson for the promoter noted that refunds for January tickets will continue to be allowed at the original point of purchase until March 26th to ensure that returned seats have an opportunity for resale.
Opening act Bryan Adams has not yet confirmed availability to open the new dates.
The Stones will take a month off at the close of their US tour commitments before beginning a European run, scheduled to start May 29th in Stuttgart, Germany. A group of dates in the United Kingdom that were postponed last summer form the core of the summer tour route.
