Wilson “Boozoo” Chavis--a.k.a. The Creole Cowboy--died on Saturday at an Austin, Texas, hospital after suffering a heart attack and stroke, according to Reuters. He was 70. Chavis was one of the creators of the Louisiana Creole accordion music known as Zydeco.

Singer Jill Scott has been hospitalized with a lung infection, and has been forced to sit out the first few dates as the opening act on Sting's tour, according to the Associated Press. Scott is expected to join the tour soon, the report said.

Former Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell has postponed all of the remaining dates on his current solo outing after injuring his arm playing football last Friday (5/4), Launch.com reported. Cantrell reportedly will undergo surgery this week. No rescheduled dates have been announced.

Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey of the R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo pleaded no contest Thursday to four lewd conduct charges stemming from a December incident in which he allegedly exposed himself while performing in Los Angeles, MTV.com reported. He was charged in March with 23 counts of indecent exposure and one count of lewd conduct.

The church-affiliated group Citizens for Peace and Respect has asked Marilyn Manson to cancel his June 21 Denver, Colo., performance as part of Ozzfest, Billboard.com reported. The group reportedly said that “Manson promotes violence, hate, and drugs, and should not spread his message in Denver.”
