Matchbox twenty unveils summer touring plans
Matchbox twenty has mapped out its summer plans, which include arena and amphitheater dates in the U.K. and North America.
The pop-rock group, which recently sent the single "Mad Season" to radio, kicks off its U.K. jaunt on June 8 in Glasgow, Scotland, and continues in the U.K. through June 17. Matchbox twenty then takes a two-week break before beginning the U.S. leg on July 31 in Fargo, N.D. The openers for this jaunt will be announced soon.
Matchbox twenty recently wrapped up a U.S. run with supporting acts Lifehouse and Everclear
The band's latest album, "Mad Season" (Atlantic), peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and has been certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. It currently sits at No. 77 after 50 weeks on the chart. "Mad Season" is the follow-up to matchbox twenty's 1996 release "Yourself or Someone Like You," which has sold more than 11 million copies.
