Settlement Reached In Lawsuit Over Injuries At Everclear Concert

A 24-year-old Massachusetts woman has settled a lawsuit charging that two members of the New England Patriots, the Boston-area Paradise rock club and the band Everclear coontributed to injuries suffered when the Patriots players, Drew Bledsoe and Max Lane, dove from the club's stage, allegedly at Art Alexakis' urging, and landed on the woman.

The settlement, reported in Saturday's Boston Globe, will total $1.25 million, of which $500,00 is being contributed by each of the Patriots players and $125,000 is being contributed by both the club and the band.

The woman, Tameeka Messier, was attending the Everclear show at the venue on November 13th of 1997. Near the end of the concert, Alexakis reportedly asked Lane and Bledsoe to get on stage. At Alexakis' suggestion, reports say that both players dove into the crowd, both landing on Messier.

Messier had to have neck surgery and underwent additional surgery to have pieces of her hip bone removed to fuse her spinal column, according to the Globe.
