According to RollingStone.com, MTV and Interscope Records have indefinitely postponed the release of the "Jackass" soundtrack, originally due on June 26. The network and the label would not say why the release was postponed, but presumably, they decided to add a WARNING: DO NOT EAT THIS CD label.

Billboard.com reported that some congressmen are concerned that if Vivendi's acquisition of MP3.com goes through, major label monopolization of online music could follow.

Tha Dogg Pound announced that it will release its album "Death Row Records Presents: Tha Dogg Pound 2002''--which features Tupac Shakur Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit--on July 31.

From a press release:

Taking pre-concert entertainment to a new level, Procter & Gamble and SFX will launch a music-themed game show called the Pringles Pop Quiz at 31 of SFX's amphitheatres across the country during the 2001 summer concert season. Remaining on each site for the entire season, the game show will offer concertgoers the opportunity to win a variety of prizes just prior to watching the summer's hottest SFX-produced concerts, including Aerosmith, James Taylor, and Moby's Area One Music Festival.

Putting a distinctive spin on the game show genre, Procter & Gamble and SFX will invite concertgoers to test their musical knowledge through a series of trivia questions and physical challenges.

--Okay, Jerry, are you ready?

--... what? Oh, yeah, man, I'm ... yeah ...

--All right, first question: It was twenty years ago today. Who taught the band to play?

--... what? Who ... I don't ... what are you looking at? ... why is everyone staring at me? Why are you people staring at me? Stop it! STOP IT!!! OH, GOD, I'M GONNA DIE! I DON'T WANNA DIE! THE SNAKES ARE HUNGRY! WHY WON'T SOMEONE HELP ME???

--Okay! Tiffany, same question.
