Silverchair To Mark New Album With Brief US Club Tour

Silverchair will launch their tour activity surrounding the release of their third album , Neon Ballroom, with a flurry of club dates beginning with a show Tuesday (2/16) at New York's Bowery Ballroom. Following a second US date in New Orleans, the Australian trio will return to their homeland for a trio of dates leading up to the Australian release of the album on March 8th.

The band will then return to America for another string of dates and the March 16th US release of the album. After playing a total of 12 US dates, the trio will embark on a month-long European tour in April, according to their official web site.

Sam Holloway, formerly of the Melbourne-based band Cordrazine, will join the touring lineup to play keyboards. Several tracks on Neon Ballroom feature piano parts, including the six-minute song Emotion Sickness, performed on the album with David Helfgott, subject of the Academy Award-winning movie ''Shine.''
