Travis Tritt schedules lengthy tour
Country singer Travis Tritt is embarking on a five-month tour in support of his album "Down the Road I Go." Sony Nashville released the CD, which features two collaborations with Charlie Daniels, in October 2000.
The tour kicks off on June 2 in Camden, N.J., and wraps up on Nov. 4 at the K Country Jamboree in Ocala, Fla. The itinerary is a healthy mix of county fairs, headlining gigs and festivals.
Tritt's latest single, "Love of a Woman," was released to radio this week. His previous single, "Its a Great Day to Be Alive," inspired a series of radio and television public service announcements for the American Red Cross.
Its been a busy couple months for Tritt, and his schedule doesnt settle down. Recently, Tritt taped episodes of "Dateline NBC" and "Sesame Street," neither of which have yet been scheduled to air. On Aug. 20, he will be inducted into the VFW Hall of Fame in Milwaukee during the Veterans National Convention; Tritt served as spokesman for the Disabled American Veterans from 1994-1996.
Tritt also appears on three cuts on Patty Loveless CD "Mountain Soul" (Sony), due out June 26. His bluegrass-inspired contributions include singing a duet and playing lead guitar on "I Know Youre Married But I Love You Still," harmony vocals on "Shady Lane" and a duet on "Out of Control Raging Fire."
