Mandy Moore promotes new album with in-store appearances
Singer-MTV host Mandy Moore has scheduled 10 in-store signings in support of her forthcoming self-titled album.
Her tour begins in New York on June 19, the same day that "Mandy Moore" (Epic) is due to hit stores, and wraps up on June 30 in Orlando, Fla. Her official website has sound clips from the album.
Moore and R&B trio 3LW (Three Little Women) are headlining a dance party and fashion show on June 14 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. A portion of the proceeds go to Los Angeles Fulfillment Fund Charity. The event will be webcast on Seventeen Magazines website for two weeks after the party. (3LW is also on this summer's "Total Request Live" (TRL) tour.)
This is a busy time for Moore, who turned 17 in April. She appears on "Entertainment Tonight" on Wednesday (6/6), on MTVs "House of Style--Movie Awards Edition" on Saturday (6/9) and on "Live with Regis and Kelly" on June 19. Moore hosts "The Mandy Show" daily on MTV.
Moore--who had a hit with "Candy" from her most recent album, 1999s "So Real" (Sony/550)--spent the spring filming her first lead movie role in "A Walk to Remember," based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. She also has a supporting role in "The Princess Diaries," which stars Julie Andrews and was directed by Garry Marshall, due to hit theaters on Aug. 3.
