Weekend Ticketing: Prince, 'TRL' Tour, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, more
Traditionally, performances on his Hit N Run tour have been announced only a few days in advance, but for four late-June shows, Prince is giving fans slightly more warning. Tickets for all four hit the box office this weekend.
On Friday (6/8) at 9 a.m. Central Time and 10 a.m. Eastern Time, tickets go on sale for the veteran R&B performer’s stops in Columbus, Ohio, on June 21; Detroit on June 23; and Omaha, Neb., on June 27. An additional June 28 date in Milwaukee goes on sale on Saturday (6/9) at noon Central Time.
The shows will be preceded by "Prince: A Celebration, The Rainbow Children" in Prince’s hometown of Minneapolis on June 15 and 16. The two-night event will mark the musician’s 43rd birthday.
The latest round of dates for MTV’s TRL tour--featuring headliner Destiny’s Child, along with Nelly, Eve, Jessica Simpson, Dream, and 3LW--go on sale this Saturday (6/9). On sales begin at 10 a.m. Eastern Time for the tour’s stop in Camden, N.J., followed at noon Eastern by the on-sale for the Boston stop.
Tickets then go on sale at noon Central Time on Saturday (6/10) for both the Minneapolis-St. Paul and San Antonio dates.
New dates have been added to James Taylor ’s already-underway tour. Look for tickets to Taylor’s Kansas City stop to surface on Saturday (6/9) at 9 a.m. Central Time, followed by tickets to his St. Louis stop at 10 a.m. Central Time.
The legendary Bob Dylan is taking to the road again later this summer, and tickets for three of his recently announced five stops will drop this weekend. Tickets for concerts in Sedalia, Mo., and Springfield, Ill., go on sale on Saturday (6/9) at 9 a.m. Central Time and at 10 a.m. Central Time, respectively.
At noon Pacific Time, tickets will be released for Dylan's performance in Phoenix.
On Friday morning (6/8), Boston-area metal fans will get a crack at tickets to the second day of Ozzfest’s two-day engagement at the Tweeter Center. The on-sale is set for 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
Tickets to Ozzfest’s first date at the Tweeter Center went on sale on Thursday (6/7).

Early next month, Stevie Nicks’ will kick off a two-month tour of the U.S. Tickets for four of the shows hit box offices this weekend.
On Friday (6/8) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, tickets will surface for Nicks’ Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, stop. Tickets for her Houston engagement will go on sale on Saturday (6/9) at 10 a.m. Central Time.
Two on-sales--for her California stops in Concord and Mountain View--are set for Sunday (6/10) at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
Tickets for Godsmack’s and Deftones’ joint performances in Columbus, Ohio, and Birmingham, Ala., will go on sale on Friday (6/8) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time and 10 a.m. Central Time, respectively.
Tickets to several dates on B.B. King’s blues festival--which, this year, has been renamed Lloyd’s Blues Music Festival after the tour’s sponsor, Lloyd’s Barbecue--are hitting the market this weekend.
On-sales begin on Friday (6/8) at 11 a.m. Eastern Time for tickets to the tour’s Boston stop. Two more shows follow on Saturday (6/9) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time for the Columbus, Ohio, engagement and 10 a.m. Pacific Time for the Reno, Nev., stop.
An additional on-sale is set for Sunday (6/10) at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, when tickets will be released for the tour’s stop in Concord, Calif.
Blink-182 has an on-sale set at 5 p.m. on Friday (6/8) for tickets to its upcoming Nashville, Tenn., concert. That on-sale is followed on Saturday (6/9) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time by tickets to the group’s Philadelphia and Tampa stops, and at noon Eastern Time tickets to the Atlanta date.
The slow trickle of additional Backstreet Boys on-sale dates continues on Friday (6/8) at noon Central Time, when tickets will hit the box office for the boy band’s Milwaukee stop.
Tickets for Janet Jackson’s October concert in San Jose, Calif., go on sale on Sunday (6/10) at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
