OutKast, Houston honored at BET Awards

OutKast brought home two trophies while Whitney Houston was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Awards at the first annual BET Awards held on Tuesday (6/19), at Las Vegas Paris Hotel.

Of the 15 awards given, OutKast was named Best Male Group and also won Video of the Year for "Ms. Jackson." Other winners included Mary J. Blige (Best Female R&B Artist), Musiq Soulchild (Best Male R&B Artist), Nelly (Best New Artist), Eve (Best Female Hip-Hop Artist), Jay-Z (Best Male Hip-Hop Artist) and Destinys Child (Best Female Group).

Donnie McClurkin was honored with Best Gospel Performer, while Lil Bow Wow took home the Viewers Choice Award for "Whats My Name?"

Christina Aguilera and Luther Vandross sang two songs during the tribute to Houston, who was given the award by her mother and daughter.
