System Of A Down Cancels Dates After Injury

System of a Down has canceled six dates on its tour to allow guitarist Daron Malakian to undergo emergency knee surgery. They're scheduled to return to the stage on Sept. 18 for a show at Peoria Park in Phoenix.

The politically-charged band, which is touring behind a re-release of its self-titled 1997 album on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label, is also scheduled to support Black Sabbath in that band's hometown of Birmingham, U.K. on December 21 and 22.
