Neil Diamond unveils tour dates, ticket pre-sale
Organizers have unveiled much of the itinerary for Neil Diamond 's upcoming tour, which gets underway on Sept. 28 in Columbus, Ohio. In most markets, tickets will go on sale via an Internet pre-sale before they go on sale to the general public.
According to Ticketmaster.com, the Internet pre-sale will begin on Sunday (7/22) at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. Beginning on Tuesday (7/17), fans can sign up at the Ticketmaster website and get a special pre-sale code. The code can be used to purchase the pre-sale tickets.
According to Ticketmaster, half of the available tickets in all price ranges will be released for the pre-sale. The general on-sale will begin on July 30. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
The tour is currently scheduled to run through Dec. 23. More dates may be added after the initial pre-sale, according to Ticketmaster.
Diamond will be supporting his forthcoming album, "Three Chord Opera," which is due for release on July 24. He is scheduled to perform on "The Today Show" on July 27.
Diamond toured the arena circuit regularly from the '70s through the mid-90s, and proved to be one of its most reliable draws. According to Amusement Business, his 1996 tour was the fifth-highest grossing of that year, pulling in $25.3 million.
