Powerman 5000 to follow album release with tour
Powerman 5000 is kicking off a headlining tour on Sept. 6 in Kansas City, Mo., to support its forthcoming record, "Anyone for Doomsday?" due out on Aug. 28.
Saliva and Machinehead will appear on all dates, and the other opening slot will vary. Stereomud opens the shows dated Sept. 6-21 and Halfcocked takes its place Sept. 24-Oct. 13, when the jaunt wraps up in Los Angeles.
"Anyone for Doomsday?" (DreamWorks) is the follow-up to Boston-based Powerman 5000's 1999 platinum effort, "Tonight the Stars Revolt." The band--frontman Spider One, bassist Dorian 27, guitarists Adam 12 and M. 33, and drummer Al 3--recorded the album with producer Terry Date (Staind, Limp Bizkit).
Powerman 5000 dropped its first single, "Bombshell," on radio this week.
