Extensive touring backs forthcoming Incubus album
The rock band Incubus has scheduled a headlining tour around the release of its third full-length album, "Morning View." The jaunt kicks off on Sept. 14, in Gilford, N.H., on the heels of Incubus' sold-out tours of Australia and New Zealand.
Dates currently run through Dec. 1, but according to a spokesperson, more are expected to be announced soon. Incubus is currently on tour with Moby 's inaugural Area: One Festival.
"Morning View," set for release on Oct. 23 on Epic Records, was named for the Malibu house where Incubus recorded the album. Like Incubus' last record, the double-platinum "Make Yourself" (Epic), "Morning View" was produced by Scott Litt. The first single from the album is "Wish You Were Here" (an original composition, not the Pink Floyd song of the same title), the video for which was directed by Phil Harder. Harder also worked with Incubus on the videos for "Stellar" and "Drive," the latter of which was nominated for Best Group Video at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
In conjunction with the tour, ARTISTdirect and AT&T Wireless are offering fans who purchase a wireless phone online and activate a qualified AT&T Wireless service plan a "VIP aXess Pack." The package consists of two tickets to any of the 30 featured concerts on the tour (travel not included), two VIP passes and an invitation to the band's "meet and greet." More details are available on the band's official website.
Incubus is vocalist-percussionist Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, bassist Dirk Lance, drummer Jose Pasillas and DJ Chris Kilmore.
