Britney Spears, O-Town to tour arenas this fall
Britney Spears will be joined by O-Town on a U.S. arena tour that will get underway in late October. The tour's first leg, which opens in Miami, will focus on Eastern cities.
Ticket on-sale information for the tour hasn't been announced, but the first run of dates is scheduled for Oct. 26-Nov. 10.
On Nov. 18, Spears is also scheduled to perform at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, a show that will be broadcast live on HBO. Cher is scheduled to join Spears at that show to sing the Sonny and Cher hit "The Beat Goes On," a song that Spears covered on her debut album.
A new album is due from Spears on Jive Records on Nov. 6. According to MTV News, the album's first single will be "I'm a Slave 4 U," which was written and produced by the Neptunes. The album will also include a cover of the Joan Jett & the Blackhearts hit "I Love Rock 'n' Roll."
Producer Rodney Jerkins--who produced several tracks for the forthcoming Michael Jackson album--also produced several songs for the new Spears album. 'NSync's Justin Timberlake reportedly co-produced one track.
O-Town's self-titled debut album (J Records) has sold more than a million copies to date, and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album was recently re-released with the new song "We Fit Together," which is featured on the Dr. Dolittle II soundtrack. "Making the Band," their reality TV show, just completed its second season on ABC-TV.
