Bob Dylan plots two-month U.S. arena trek

Legendary rocker Bob Dylan [ tickets ]--who will wrap up a brief August outing with shows on Friday and Saturday night (8/24, 25) in Las Vegas and California, respectively--has lined up a nearly two-month long tour of U.S. arenas. The outing is set to kick off in early October.

Tickets to all but two of the upcoming dates initially will be made available through two advance-ticket pre-sales. The first, which will be hosted by Dylan’s official website, is scheduled to begin next Wednesday (8/29), according to the site.

A second, pre-sale, through Ticketmaster, is also planned, according to Dylan’s website, though specific details had not been announced at press time. (LiveDaily is a Ticketmaster publication.)

The fall tour will not feature an opening act, according to organizers.

Dylan’s upcoming jaunt will support his forthcoming release, “Love and Theft” (Columbia). The album, which is the veteran musician’s 43rd, is due in stores on Sept. 11.

Earlier this month, Dylan embarked on short summer outing, which comprised stops at state fairs and other outdoor venues.
