Alice Cooper's 'Dragontown' due this fall, tour dates set
Shock-rock architect Alice Cooper takes his latest tour on the road on Sept. 29 to support his upcoming release, "Dragontown" (Spitfire), which hits stores on Oct. 9.
Cooper will be playing in a variety of venues--theatres, mid-sized amphitheaters, casinos and a couple of larger ballrooms--and various local and regional acts will serve as opening acts.
In between tours, Cooper has a thriving second career as a commercial pitchman. He recently completed commercials for Marriott and CompUSA, both of which will start running in the fall. A golf enthusiast, Cooper is also on golf club manufacturer Callaway's "pro staff," appearing in commercials, attending trade shows and playing in celebrity tournaments.
Before heading out on tour, Cooper will be in Atlanta on Sept. 1 to receive the Living Legend Award at the sci-fi/fantasy fan convention Dragon*Con, becoming the first non-author to receive the honor. Previous recipients include Harlan Ellison and Ray Bradbury.
