update: Just one day after revealing the first three dates of its upcoming reunion tour, Jane’s Addiction has confirmed a total of 10 dates for the jaunt, which kicks off in early October. The group has also replaced Mos Def--who was originally slated to join Live as one of the tour’s opening acts--with Afrobeat artist Femi Kuti.

Dubbed the Jubilee tour, the outing now has dates set through late October, and is scheduled to run through Nov. 11. Live has been tapped to appear on all of the tour’s forthcoming dates, while Femi Kuti is slated for Oct. 6 through Oct. 23. November dates will be announced soon, as will additional acts and attractions, according to a tour spokesperson.

When the tour’s stops in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey were announced on Tuesday (8/28), Mos Def was tagged as a support act. The rapper has since been removed from the bill without explanation. A spokesperson for Mos Def could not be reached at press time.

Jane's Addiction [ tickets ]'s touring lineup on the Jubilee outing will feature original members Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar) and Stephen Perkins (drums), as well as Martyn LeNoble (bass), who was a member of Farrell's side-project, Porno for Pyros.

Nigerian artist Femi Anikulapo Kuti [ tickets ]--the son of popular Nigerian bandleader Fela Anikulapo Kuti--will perform a 45-minute set at each of his Jubilee tour appearances, according to his official website. His most recent release is last year's "Shoki Shoki" (MCA), streaming-audio samples of which can be found at his website. A new album titled "Fight to Win" is due out on Oct. 16.

Conceived by Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, the Jubilee tour was inspired by the Jewish celebration of the same name, which occurs once every 50 years and, during biblical times, was marked by the release of slaves of Hebrew descent.

"We are lucky to be living during this Jubilee year," Farrell said in a press release. "This is a 50-year cycle that peaks with mad celebration. It is a call to party; a conscience to be free and to free others along the way. Another one won't come around 'til 50 years from now."

One dollar from the price of each ticket sold to the tour will be donated to the Farrell-founded Jubilee Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with various charities and causes to raise and distribute “funds and awareness on a local and worldwide level,” according to a press release.

Farrell also founded Lollapalooza, the highly successful, ‘90s-era festival that, over the years, featured acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Ministry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains and Rage Against the Machine.
