Everclear [ tickets ] plans to welcome some college students back to school this fall with a brief tour of campuses throughout the Northeast. The outing kicks off in mid-September.

The Portland, Ore., band is also set to perform on Sept. 22 at a Boston-area radio festival that will also feature Barenaked Ladies, Alanis Morissette, 3 Doors Down, David Gray, Jewel, Billy Idol, Collective Soul, Uncle Kracker, Coldplay, Nelly Furtado, Better Than Ezra, Jeffrey Gaines and more, according to the radio station’s official website.

A one-off date in Hampton Beach, N.H., is also planned.

Everclear is continuing to tour in support of its pair of 2000 releases, "Songs from an American Movie Vol 1: Learning How to Smile" and "Songs from an American Movie Vol. 2: Good Time for a Bad Attitude" (Capitol).

"Rock Star," a track found on “Vol. 2,” will be featured on the soundtrack to the forthcoming film “Rock Star,” which stars Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. Everclear shot a video for the song with director Marcos Siega (Weezer, Blink-182).

Guitarist Craig Montoya wrote about the “Rock Star” video shoot in a message posted on the group’s official website.

“The video consists of 4 different rooms that will sorta blend together," Montoya wrote. "I don't want to give too much away but it’s very slick looking and will hopefully get some play so you all can check it out.”
