The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has determined that the pilot of the crashed plane that killed singer Aaliyah and eight other passengers was not authorized to fly the plane, the New York Times reported. The FAA's investigation is ongoing.
Zomba Music Group ('NSync, Britney Spears) has settled its copyright-infringement lawsuit against MP3.com, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The settlement follows major label Vivendi Universal's Tuesday (8/28) announcement that it bought MP3.com.
Zomba has reportedly agreed to license its music to MP3.com.
Yahoo.com will stream a live Backstreet Boys concert from Dallas on Friday (8/31).
Actor Billy Bob Thornton has canceled a scheduled fall tour behind his Lost Highway album "Private Radio," claiming that the promotion for his four forthcoming movies is too demanding, Sonicnet reported.
Fatboy Slim's website today made available a cellphone ringtone to coincide with the release of his new single, "Ya Mama/Song for Shelter," off the album "Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars" (Astralwerks). The ringtones will work with a wide range of Nokia phones. The tones were made available to the first 10,000 users to access them via his website.
