Melissa Etheridge adds more dates to solo acoustic outing
In addition to her latest batch of solo dates, Etheridge has also signed on to perform at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20 as part of the Paul McCartney-led Concert for New York, a benefit to aid those affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The lineup for the event also includes the Who, Bon Jovi, James Taylor, John Mellencamp and others.
Tickets for all of Etheridge's upcoming solo performances are on sale now, according to organizers. Preferred tickets for a number of dates for seats located within the first 20 rows are also available through Etheridge?s official fan club, according to her website.
True to its name, Etheridge's current "live ... and alone" tour features the singer performing alone with an acoustic guitar. She is touring in support of her latest release, "Skin" (Island), which hit stores in July. The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold just over 280,000 copies in the U.S., according to industry sources.
