Lee Ann Womack lines up holiday tour dates
Country singer Lee Ann Womack and her band will embark on a holiday-season tour with the 15-piece Duke Ellington Orchestra, which features Ellingtons grandson, Mercer. The tour will begin on Nov. 29 at the Washington Township Center for the Performing Arts in Sewell, N.J. In addition to holiday standards, Womack will also perform a few of her songs.
Womack's latest album, "I Hope You Dance" (MCA Nashville), is No. 13 on Billboard's latest Top Country Albums chart and No. 112 on the current Billboard 200 album chart. It has sold more than two million copies.
The singer is scheduled to perform her new single, "Does My Ring Burn Your Finger," at the CMA Awards airing on Nov. 7 on CBS. She is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as for Music Video of the Year for her song ''Ashes by Now."
With Willie Nelson, Womack has recorded a duet--the Bernie Taupin-penned song Mendocino County Line"--for Nelson's forthcoming album, "The Great Divide."
