The Cranberries regroup for December radio festivals

After canceling its promotional dates in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Cranberries have decided to head to the U.S. for a series of radio festivals.

The Irish pop band kicks off its short, promotional tour on Dec. 3 in Boston, and wraps it up on Dec. 11 in Detroit, according to its spokeswoman.

The Cranberries are touring in support of their latest CD "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee," their first album for MCA Records. Their five previous efforts--"Everybody Else is Doing It" (1993), "No Need to Argue" (1994), "Doors and Windows" (1995), "To the Faithful Departed" (1996) and "Bury the Hatchet" (1999)--were released by Island.

In other Cranberries news, the band will perform the songs "Analyse," the first single from "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee," and "Linger" on the Oxygen Network's "Pure Oxygen" at noon and 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday (10/25). The performance will be available at Oxygen’s website as well.

After the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Cranberries canceled their tour dates, according to a statement on their website. The band recently added the holiday festival shows. It also temporarily reportedly pulled the video for "Analyse," which features scenes of skyscrapers, planes flying overhead and an outline of a dead body.
