Slayer launches North American tour
Two weeks after completing its European outing atop the Tattoo the Planet bill, Slayer kicks off a headlining North American road trip on Monday night (10/29) in New Orleans. The group is hitting the road in support of its new album, "God Hates Us All."
Released last month, "God Hates Us All" (American) entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 28. The album was produced by Matt Hynde (Monster Magnet, Porno for Pyros), and was mixed by American Recordings head Rick Rubin, who produced many of the group's previous releases.
Fellow metal act American Head Charge, which is nearing the end of its run on the Pledge of Allegiance tour, will join Slayer's outing on Friday (11/2). The group is touring in support of its debut album, "The War of Art" (American), which hit stores in August.
Cleveland based hard-core act Chimaira, whose "Pass Out of Existence" (Roadrunner) also surfaced in August, will open all dates on Slayer's outing except for the Nov. 30, Dec. 4 and Dec. 6 stops, according to Slayer's official website.
