Blink-182 fills in U.S. itinerary, reschedules European dates
The punk-pop band Blink-182 has scheduled a handful of U.S. appearances to round out its year of touring.
The band will perform as part of radio station-sponsored holiday shows in Boston; Fairfax, Va.; Seattle; Philadelphia; Chicago; Milwaukee and Detroit. The trio has also been tapped to appear on the MTV European Video Awards on Nov. 12 and the Billboard Music Awards on Dec. 4.
In early 2002, Blink-182 will travel to Europe to perform a series of dates that were postponed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. The itinerary includes stops in Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Ireland and Italy.
On Dec. 8, Blink-182s Travis Barker will be one of many drummers participating in the "Drum Day LA" drum festival at the House of Blues in Hollywood. The benefit for the International House of Blues Foundation will also feature performances by Bill Bruford, Marco Minnemann, Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle), "Zoro" (Lenny Kravitz) and Marvin "Smitty" Smith ("The Tonight Show"). Visit the DW Drums website for more information.
Blink-182 is touring in support of its latest album, "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" (MCA), which sits at No. 124 after 20 weeks on The Billboard 200 album chart.
In early October, Blink-182 released the book "Tales from Beneath Your Mom," which chronicles the day-to-day life of the band. It was penned by the three band members--Barker, bassist-vocalist Mark Hoppus and guitarist-vocalist Tom DeLonge--and Hoppus sister, Anne.
