Alanis Makes Recording Plans, Will Co-Star In "Vagina Monologues"

Alanis Morissette will begin recording a new album this summer, with a projected release date of 2001, according to her label Maverick Records.

Morissette's last studio album, the seven-million seller ''Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie,'' received the Best Album award at the March 12 Juno Awards, Canada's equivalent of the Grammys. Her self-directed video ''So Pure,'' also from the album, won a Juno for Best Video.

From March 21 through April 2, Morissette will make her theatrical debut in the play ''The Vagina Monologues'' at the Westside Theatre in New York. The play is based on Obie-award winning playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with women of all ages, professions and ethnic groups about their vaginas
