Living Colour plans new round of reunion dates
update: Living Colour will spend its holiday season performing a series of East Coast concerts. The dates mark the third time that the reunited rock quartet has taken to the road in the U.S. this year.
A stop in Boston and a two-night stand in New York City will book-end Thanksgiving day, and a series of six more dates will kick off the day after Christmas and end with a New Year's Eve show in Atlanta, according to the group's management.
Just prior to Christmas last year, the band--which had broken up in 1995--reunited for a surprise performance at New York City club CBGB's. That show spawned a brief West Coast tour in May, a run on the European summer-festival circuit and a series of Northeast dates in August.
The group's set list on its reunion tour has included previously released songs from the band's three studio albums--1988's "Vivid," 1990's "Time's Up" and 1993's "Staind"--as well as new material. The band--Vernon Reid (guitar), Corey Glover (vocals), Will Calhoun (drums) and Doug Wimbish (bass)--has received several record-label offers since reuniting, and is expected to head into the studio in December to begin work on a new album, according to management.
A 2-hour streaming video of Living Colour's May 13 performance in Santa Ana, Calif., can be viewed at Calhoun's official website.
