Macy Gray unveils initial tour dates behind 'The Id'
Pop singer Macy Gray has revealed the first batch of dates on her U.S. tour, which kicks off on Friday (11/16) at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.
So far, Gray’s tour extends through New Year's Eve, when she performs at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, Calif.
Certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies, "The Id" (Epic) is Gray's latest album. It currently sits at No. 78 on the Billboard 200 after eight weeks on the album chart. The record, which features guest appearances by rapper Slick Rick and pianist Billy Preston, is at No. 48 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Gray debuted songs from "The Id" this summer while opening for Dave Matthews Band on its stadium tour. The first single from "The Id" is "Sexual Revolution," which Gray will perform on Dec. 14 on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
In other Gray news, she recorded the holiday song "This Christmas" for the album "A Very Special Christmas 5" (A&M/Interscope), which hit stores in late October.
She earned a Grammy this year for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her debut album "On How Life Is" (550/Epic).
