Puddle of Mudd won't appear on Creed's upcoming tour
Puddle of Mudd, which had been announced as the opening act for the first leg of Creed 's upcoming tour, has backed out of the outing, Creed's management announced on Wednesday (12/5).
"Creed, their fans, radio stations, and concert promoters of the upcoming shows were very excited about the addition of Puddle of Mudd to the US dates," the statement read. "Unfortunately, after the involvement of Puddle of Mudd was formally confirmed and announced by the bands' respective booking agencies and radio stations in the upcoming tour markets, representatives for Puddle of Mudd canceled the dates with no explanation given. Creed is already in contact with numerous up and coming rock acts about filling the vacancy and an announcement will be made soon."
The selection of Puddle of Mudd, proteges of Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, as Creed's opening act came as somewhat of a surprise because of a well-publicized insult war between Durst and Creed frontman Scott Stapp.
Stapp recently told liveDaily that adding Puddle of Mudd to the bill wouldn't be a problem. "We're just really, really glad that there are such good rock bands out there that can get together and put together a really great show for the fans," he said. "Puddle of Mudd is a great band, they write great music, and we're fans of the band. Our tour's going to be fun and we're going to have a great time."
