Hoobastank hits the club circuit
California rock band Hoobastank is warming up for its European tour with Incubus with a four-week U.S. trek, which kicked off on Nov. 29. Ozzfest veterans Pressure 4-5 will open on most dates.
Hoobastank--vocalist Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, bassist Markku Lappalainen and drummer Chris Hesse--released its first album, "They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To" in 1998. Its self-titled Island debut, produced by Jim Wirt (Incubus, Fiona Apple) hit stores this fall. The record currently sits at No.181 on the Billboard 200 album chart and at No. 6 on the magazine’s Heatseekers chart.
Pressure 4-5 released its DreamWorks debut, "Burning the Process," earlier this year. The first single, "Beat the World," appeared on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in late November, while the album landed on the Heatseekers chart in early December. The Marc Webb-directed video for "Beat the World" is in rotation at MTV and MTV2. The band includes vocalist Adam Rich, guitarists Mark Barry and Joe Schmidt, bassist Lyle McKeany and drummer Tom Schmidt.
