Montgomery Gentry starts planning for 2002
Country duo Montgomery Gentry has begun lining up dates for its 2002 tour, which currently focuses on the East Coast.
The band wrapped up its 2001 jaunt at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel on Friday (12/7), according to its official website, and will resume its road work on Feb. 2, when it performs as part of a chili cook-off in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Montgomery Gentry's latest record, "Carrying On" (Sony/Columbia), spawned the hit "She Couldn’t Change Me." The album is at No. 39 on the current Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
On Monday (12/10), Montgomery Gentry's 1999 debut album, "Tattoos and Scars," was certified platinum for sales of more than one million copies.
The Lexington, Kentucky-based duo, who spent the summer touring with Brooks and Dunn, was Radio and Records' Country Duo of the Year in 1999 and 2000, and won the 2000 CMA award for Duo of the Year.
