Machine Head readies for inaugural headlining tour
San Francisco-based metal band Machine Head will open its Supercharging Across America tour in Vancouver, B.C., on Jan. 10. The month-long tour will be the band's first as a headliner.
Industrial-metal purveyors Dope, only hours after announcing that they would accompany Machine Head on the jaunt, pulled out of the tour without giving a reason, though sources close to the band complained that the pairing "was not a good fit." At press time, no act had been named to replace Dope on the bill.
Machine Head is supporting its Johnny K-produced album "Supercharger" (Roadrunner), which was released last September and recently spawned the single "Crashing Around You." The album fuses punk, rap and metal with aplomb.
